Based on image-processing technology, the MultiToll Licence Plate Recognition System is obtained by reading of the vehicles rear and/or front license plates. Our solution is integrated in the camera and identifies the vehicles, passing in the electronic toll lanes. The shots are realized without interruption and the detection is obtained through video analysis. This process is capable of multiple recordings of the same vehicle (up to 15 images per second), which increases the success rate of interpretation. The recognition of the graphic elements and the characters is based on a neural network technology.
The LPR system can also be used for other applications, such as free-flow, enforcement, access control for gate opening, supervision of a road, statistics or travel-time calculation on a specific network.

MultiToll Validation Module
We have developed a special device to ensure optimised validation of all LPR transaction picture captures and recognition results, with the help of tools like OCR and image-processing. The average recognition rate for stopped cars and up to 30 km/h is at least 95%. For moving cars exceeding 30 km/h, the average recognition rate is 90%, depending upon the particular environmental conditions and regulations specific to each country.
